Emmanuel Music is honored to accept an invitation from the prestigious Bach-Archiv Leipzig, considered the preeminent center of Bach scholarship, to participate in the 2020 Leipzig Bach Festival June 11 - June 21, 2020. The theme of the 2020 Leipzig Bach Festival is "Bach - We are Family," and it will showcase Bach’s entire chorale cantata cycle in chronological order in 18 concerts played by 18 elite ensembles from fourteen countries and six continents. Emmanuel Music is one of only four American ensembles invited to perform and will present a full evening concert on Thursday, June 18 at 8 p.m. in Leipzig’s famed St. Nicholas Church – the historic setting for the premiere of Bach’s monumental St. John Passion as well as most of his Leipzig cantatas.

Emmanuel Music’s concert will include the following cantatas:
- Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern, BWV 1
- Christ lag in Todesbanden, BWV 4
- Wär Gott nicht mit uns diese Zeit, BWV 14
- Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme, BWV 140
